
The journey of Outdoorlink, Inc. began in 2007 with a vision to solve the struggles the Out of Home Advertising industry faces on a daily basis. Owner and CEO Dwight Jennings created the SmartLink System to help ease the problems of escalating utility costs, customer complaints due to illumination issues, and continuously increasing maintenance expenses that affected the industry as a whole.
After spending more than 40 years in the Out of Home Advertising industry, Dwight gained a vast knowledge of the business and a passion for the people who make it great. In 1967 he started in sales and management with Creative Displays, and in 1984 started his own company in North Alabama, Jennings Outdoor Advertising. After building the business to over 400 structures, Dwight sold Jennings Outdoor and began his new search on how to continue impacting the Out of Home Advertising industry.
Since 2007 Outdoorlink, Inc., a family owned and operated company, has become the industry leader in providing remote control of billboard lighting and digital displays for the Out of Home Advertising industry in both the United States and abroad. We value our customers as our greatest source of learning and inspiration, and are proud to provide a product that was built for them by them. To date, there are thousands of SmartLink units installed throughout the world. In addition, sister company Outdoorlink Services, Inc., has over 35 subcontractors who install the SmartLink System as well as LED lighting and ladder safety systems for customers.

1967
Dwight Jennings begins his career in Sales and Management at Creative Displays.
1984
Dwight Jennings starts Jennings Outdoor.
2007
Dwight Jennings sells Jennings Outdoor and starts Outdoorlink, Inc.
2009
Outdoorlink launches the SmartLink Management System (SMS).
2016
Outdoorlink reaches a milestone of 50,000 SmartLink installations worldwide.
2018
Outdoorlink launches the SmartLink mobile app.
2019
Outdoorlink launches the SL-2-DC for managing solar-powered devices.
2021
Outdoorlink launches the SmartLink Vantage, a first-of-its-kind controller for providing digital content verification on digital displays.

DJ Jennings is the CEO of Outdoorlink and has been with the company since 2012. DJ oversees all business development and client relationship management for each of the company’s verticals, and directly manages all international Out of Home business development.

Dwight Jennings
Owner and Founder
Dwight Jennings is the owner and founder of Outdoorlink. Dwight’s 40 years of expertise in the Out of Home Advertising industry gave him the necessary insight to create the SmartLink, to provide the solution to rising utility costs and maintenance overhead associated with the outdoor lighting industry.

Franklin Olive
Chief Operating Officer
Franklin Olive is the Chief Operating Officer of Outdoorlink. In this position, he is responsible for the daily operations of the company, including future product development and implementation, engineering, sales management, product forecasting, production, inventory management and reconciliation, customer support, and general oversight of all employees. Franklin has been with Outdoorlink, Inc., since its incorporation in 2007.

Rick Holloway
Director of Engineering
Rick is the Director of Engineering and oversees all new designs, technical development and quality control for Outdoorlink, Inc. Rick has over 25 years’ experience in product development and operational management.

Carter Weiland
Director of Digital Solutions
Carter is the Director of Digital Solutions for Outdoorlink, Inc. His focus centers on solutions for a variety of digital devices for commercial and out of home advertising applications. Carter is actively involved in new product development and business development.

Jenni Evans
VP Transit Solutions
Jenni is the VP of Transit Solutions and manages all business development for the public transportation sector. Prior to joining the ODL team, she was the VP at Brasco International, a street furniture manufacturer, and Director of Operations at Connectpoint, a solar power and digital signage supplier. Jenni is an active member of the Smart Cities Council, Board Member on the APTA Business Member Board of Governors, and member of APTA’s IT and Business Development Committees.

David Pottorf
Controller
David is the Financial Controller for Outdoorlink. Prior to joining Outdoorlink, he worked in public accounting at KPMG, worked in the private sector, and is a veteran of the United States Air Force. David is responsible with tracking the cash flow, executing the company’s financial plan, and advising on long-term business and financial planning.

Jack Moores
Commercial Sales Account Manager
Jack heads up our commercial sales team with an emphasis on the parks and recreational space. He also oversees our lighting services division specializing in turn-key lighting upgrades and retrofits. In addition to being a former business owner of a full-service lighting company, he has been in the manufacturing sales rep industry for over twenty-five years.
